Nick Robins is Professor in Practice for Sustainable Finance at the Grantham
Research Institute at the London School of Economics. The focus of his work is on
how to mobilise finance for a just transition, the role of central banks and regulators in achieving sustainable development and how the financial system can support the restoration of nature.
From 2014 to 2018, Nick was co-director of UNEP’s Inquiry into a Sustainable Financial System, where he founded the network of Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) and the Sustainable Insurance Forum. Before this, he was head of the Climate Change Centre of Excellence at HSBC from 2007 to 2014 and
head of SRI research and then head of SRI funds at Henderson Global Investors from 2000-2007.
Nick is a board member of Investor Watch and a member of a number of advisory boards including Carbon Tracker, the Climate Bonds Initiative and CreditEnable. He has also worked at IIED, the European Commission, the BCSD and the Economist Intelligence Unit. He is author of The Corporation that Changed the World: How the East India Company Shaped the Modern Multinational (2006) and co-author with Cary Krosinsky of Sustainable Investing: the art of long-term performance (2008).
Nick has a BA in History from Cambridge University and an MSc in International Relations from LSE
